|The history of the "Nürnberg Rauschgoldengel" is dating back about 400 years. Once in Nürnberg there was a dollmaker named Melchior Hauser. His little daughter just died and his wife was very sad. He went into his workshop and started working on a doll. By the time he was finished, he looked at his creation and saw this beautiful angel with this lovely face of his beloved daughter wearing a golden dress and a little crown. He gave this angel to his wife and as it was Christmas she was putting it on the Christmastree.|
|The angels changed a little since and in the 19th century the angels have faces and hands made out of wax and beautiful dresses made out of fine brocade, silk or velvet.|
These angels still today are part of our very special German Christmas tradition. In our home we are using an angel on top of our Christmastree since generations. I cannot imagine Christmas without having an angel!
