Once upon a time…….

Long, long ago the pewter manufacture Wilhelm Schweizer designed an opulent pewter miniature which was called the Fairytale Castle. The marvellous elaboration was giving each single figure an expressiveness you would have to search for far and wide. You would not find anything comparable beautiful! And everybody who owns a Fairytale Castle is happy.

Once a day Mr. Arau, the designer from  Wilhelm Schweizer`s finest pewter miniatures, decided it would be time to create a new fabulous pewter picture. He came up with the Fabulous Forest. For many years the Fabulous Forest remained being unfinished.

Finally it will see the light of the day!

Well-known fairytales, reminders of our childhood, are having a rendezvous. Snow-White and the seven dwarfs are meeting Hänsel and Gretel on their way to the wolf and the seven little goats. Pipe-piper is marching along, leaving the three little pigs with their three houses

far behind. the ugly duckling turned into the beautiful swan flying up into the sky. From above he can see two fawns running towards the forest, it might have been the brother and sister. And if the swan will not pay attention, he will collide with Jack and the beanstalk.
 

The Fabulous Forest is a hanging pewter miniature. It is hand painted from one side. The filigree work  is impressing and I am fascinated
